[M] Warning, this post has: 4, 001 words 24, 572 characters with spaces (62. 5% of Reddit's limit) and will take around 21 minutes to read this is excluding this warning. This took me four days of research and writing and about four hours to write; Enjoy! 1 trillion USD investment into infrastructure. This campaign promise from President Trump was something everyone in the U. S. government could get behind. The Senate and House worked endlessly since the passing of the Trumpcare bill to draft a bill to restart the U. economy and modernise its infrastructure. Funding and Distribution As promised, 1 trillion USD over the course of 10 years will be put into the reinvigoration of our infrastructure. This means that every year until 2029, the government will spend $100 billion on infrastructure. In 2029, the amount will drop back to 4% of the US budget for maintenance. The Federal government will allocate the yearly funds the following way: Federal Public Projects: $10 billion Federal Private Projects: $30 billion State Projects: $30 billion County/Municipality: $28 billion Territories: $2 billion (including Puerto Rico, Guam, Marina Islands, and Virgin Islands) State projects will have to include projects that benefit the entire state with an emphasis on rural areas as much of the county/municipality budget will be given to the top 50 cities in the U. (as per this list). Transportation Roads and Highways Interstate The interstate highway system will need huge upgrades. Firstly, all damaged portions will be paved with concrete for long term solutions. All currently tarmac roads that are in disrepair will be converted to concrete. Lane extensions for the top 10 most congested routes (longer than 50 miles) will be included as well. Most of this will be done by the states but the federal government will have to include portions as well. Only $75 billion will be invested in this. Road Digs Efficient road designs for cities is essential. Just like the Boston Big Dig, many cities will seek to make their interstate highways within the city go underground and build parks above the freeway itself. This is expect to be extremely expensive as the Big Dig costed $14. 6 billion USD. However, the following projects will be under budget, and ahead of schedule (as is the trademark of the President). With reducing costs of infrastructure projects a major focus for the President, he will be visiting the sites of the new Digs: Kennedy Expressway- Chicago: One of the most crowded bottlenecks in the US, the Kennedy Expressway will be converted into an underground highway for 4 of its 10 mile journey. The parts closest to the loop up to the north will be dug underground with the top making room for parks and a new CTA line. This project will receive $7 billion. Dan Ryan Expressway- Chinatown, Chicago: Another heavy but short area, the intersection between I-90 and I-55 will be shifted underground for a total of another 4 miles of construction. Above will make room for parks and public environmentally friendly buildings. This project will receive $5 billion. Los Angeles Downtown Expressway: This often overcrowded highway will be sent underground. 10 miles of the interior interstates will be sent inside with the top holding parks and miniature forests to improve beautification. This is expected to cost $13 billion. I-35- Austin TX: Austin being one of the most liberal cities in the union and one of the fastest has a huge problem. The commercial north and residential south are connected with one freeway. Often a sprawling one but unfortunately with no more room to expand, this dig will focus on sending the freeway underground but building a beautiful boulevard above. This boulevard will be the source of all exits and ramps to the freeway underneath. This 6 mile project is expected to cost $8 billion. I-95- Miami downtown: This widely used road connects to the important I-395 and downtown Miami. In order to hold more space, this 3 mile stretch will be sent downwards and widened by one lane on either side. The top will hold city parks and parking garages. The cost will be $7 billion. Downtown connector and Freedom Pkwy- Atlanta: This 3. 5 mile essential route will be sent underground and have commercial space created above. Parks will be built near where the intersection is underground. This is expected to cost $7 billion. An additional $25 billion will be invested into any other city with desires for digs. However, it must be given to at least 4 cities. American Route System A new type of highway system alongside the interstate highway system will be created to handle car traffic. Based off of the Autobahn in Germany, these routes will connect cities but will not enter the city itself to prevent problems. Similar to turnpikes, these routes will have very limited exits and when near cities, they will blend into interstate highways. The American Route System will cost similar to the interstate highway system and will be entirely federally funded. The original Interstate highway costed around $426 billion but the American Route System will cost $200 billion. The roads are designed to have 2 lanes with a minimum speed of 60 miles per hour and a maximum speed of 100 mph (if the car is self driving, 135 mph). The two lanes are to be wider than three-laned interstate highways to allow smoother movement and the pavement will be soft enough to not damage the cars' tyres on the high speed journeys. At nodes (yellow on the map) the route would end and merge onto the nearest interstate highway. Green routes indicate the American Routes and often are built alongside interstate highways. In cases where they are built alongside the interstate highways, they will be adjacent to the median but will be blocked off from the rest of the road. A range of 10-40 miles per exit is expected with most exits being alongside interstate exits to save money. Map of the American Route System Atlanta to Miami via the interstate highway system takes around 10 hours. With the American Route system, it is expected to take almost 6 hours. This is done by reducing the chances of accidents with wider lanes, more runoff for stranded vehicles, less exits that can be clogged, and feeding into the more heavier used interstate highways. To prevent American Routes from being used too often, a toll of $5 will be used for every entrance. If a car leaves the highway and returns within an hour (such as for food and gas), the pass will remain valid. Special sensors will detect the pass near every exit. People can buy the pass online and it would be shipped to them within 1 day from their nearest post office. Passes will also be sold near the nodes and node cities will see many post offices with American Route passes. Every route (barring the Chicago-Salt Lake Route) is expected to take less than a day's drive allowing most travelers to have faster drives. Trains Amtrak is no where near the capacity it has and will most likely not get anymore thanks to the American route system. Amtrak will see themselves slowly lose federal funding to the bare minimum. Current routes will be maintained and upheld and current high speed routes will remain as is. Since there is no potential in any upgrades to Amtrak barring the access to transportation for rural populations, the federal government will lower funding Amtrak from the current 2 billion USD per year to 1 billion. This money will be used to upkeep current infrastructure. Eventually, cabins will be converted to cheaper variants to save operational costs and upkeep. However, a series of hyperloops are to be built with cooperation with Hyperloop One. This will cover the: $10 billion San Fransisco to Los Angeles line $15 billion Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Nashville line $8 billion Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati line $6 billion Norfolk to Washington DC line A further revitalisation of the cargo transport industry will occur with upgrades on the current lines costing a total $5 billion throughout the nation. Hyperloop should help with transporting goods at rapid pace but with the immense size of the country, it cannot be all. Metros $47 billion will be invested in creating metros for cities throughout the US. However, in order to be futuristic and efficient, monorail plans and extremely green metros (modeled after the Nagpur Metro in India [M] tfw an Indian city has a better metro than the entire US). The following cities have requested a new metro plan: Washington DC monorail: Planned to take passengers from Alexandria, around the capital, and to college park. Los Angeles monorail: Planned to connect Los Angeles and solve its traffic problems, the monorail will follow major freeways and be built right above them. Parking garages will be built off of existing exits to promote usage of the monorail. Bay Area Metro: Planned to loop around from San Francisco, down to Silicon Valley, then up to Oakland, and back into San Francisco, this super green metro will use the old transit system for a starting point. Atlanta Monorail: Separate but connected to their existing metro, this monorail will bring passengers from the wealthy northern suburbs into the city by building a high speed monorail from the heart of downtown all the way up to the last suburb. Chicago Monorail: Similar to Atlanta's, this monorail will connect the Loop to OHare airport and Schaumburg. Another line will take passengers from the Loop to Evanston. This monorail will be quick like the Metra but essentially replace those Metra lines (the existing lines will be converted to monorails). Seattle Metro: Seattle lacks an efficient metro and with a rapidly growing population, Seattle will receive an extremely green metro to connect itself to its southern and eastern suburbs. Pittsburgh Metro: The city back from the ashes, Pittsburgh wishes to build a green metro around itself that plans on pushing past its suburbs in hopes of attracting people to move in. Philadelphia Metropolitan and Monorail: Surprisingly absent of a public transportation system, this city has gotten away with shorter traffic. However, with expanding population, Philadelphia desires to make a metro line connecting itself to its nearby neighbors. Then, the metro would end at a monorail station where passengers can board a high speed monorail past the Delaware river and UPenn. Boston Monorail: This monorail seeks to connect the wealthy western suburbs to the airport through downtown. New York Metropolitan Area Monorail: an ambitious programme to build a monorail like a metro, this will allow people to journey into Manhattan and transfer to 6 different lines that can either take people north to the Bronx, west to Jersey city (which will also receive a new metro), northeast to LaGuardia and northern Long Island, northwest into New Jersey, East into Long Island, or South to Staten Island. Airports As the president had said in the campaigns, our airports look like they came straight out of the Third World. The US government will work with numerous municipalities to upgrade and update the following airports: LaGuardia New York: A relic of the past, LaGuardia has become the bane of every foreign tourists' travels to the U. Thankfully, the president's statements did something as LaGuardia is developing itself for $4 billion USD. The airport will receive $250 million USD to upgrade remaining facilities in LaGuardia in the currently being renovated airport. Los Angeles International: The worst part of any transpacific flight has to be traveling through LAX for many people. An airport with so much history shouldn't be kept in such a bad shape. Thankfully, the new international terminal has become something of a saviour. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the domestic terminals. The two wings of terminals on either side of the international terminal will be shut in sessions to connect all of them together and maximise area for airplanes. Modernisation will also be a priority. LAX will be given $600 million to upgrade their airport. Parking decks will also be built as well as better transportation to reduce congestion in nearby roads and highways. Chicago Midway: Once Chicago's only airport, Midway is Chicago's awkward child. Situated in the middle of a residential community, the airport has truly grown out of its clothes. Midway will be redone in a unique way. As seen here, the airport has a unique square shape. The bottom shows the current international airport which will be completely upgraded strictly for domestic purposes. The left side shows a commercial airport which will be flattened and converted to an airforce base for the US Air Force (part of the defense budget). The right side is currently unused and will be converted to a commercial area where businesses and residents can lease space for their own private affairs. The top shows hangers and a large amount of flat space. This area will be host to the new international terminal (which will mostly serve North and South American flights). The total cost for Midway's revitalisation is expected to cost $1 billion USD. Boston Logan: Some say the only thing messier than Boston's street design is its airport design. Boston Logan will have a completely new terminal built on the northwest near the current hangers. The current terminals will be converted to cargo space and domestic terminals as well as receiving upgrades. All the terminals will be combined into one building allowing for better transfers. Terminal B and the current cargo hanger will be converted into a high class cargo airport which will double its capacity. The entire project is expected to cost $1. 1 billion. Philadelphia International: Despite being on a picturesque backdrop, this airport is known for overcrowding and as an airport straight from the 60s. Philadelphia international will receive $500 million to build a brand new terminal strictly for international in the current cargo area. The cargo will be pushed further west and expanded mostly near the river. Newark Liberty: Another dreadful New York airport and unfortunately the gateway to the US by many Asians, Newark suffers from intense delays and overcrowding. A brand new runway west from the easternmost will be constructed. This would mean the innovative yet extremely unclever design will have to go. The newer terminal C will be nearly doubled in size to handle nearly all of the domestic flights. The southern portion will be rebuilt to hold two massive wings. One wing will handle half domestic and half international flights whilst the other wing will be exclusively international. This project is expected to cost around $2 billion USD but many people believe it will be worth it. Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport: The second airport in the Miami area is important for most Latin American flights. With huge demand in the tip of Florida, it is essential to expand Ft Lauderdale International before it ends up as an overcrowded mess. The runway upgrade will be finished but a new international terminal will be constructed near the western undeveloped area. This state of the art facility will host all of the international traffic of this airport and will be connected to the previous terminal (updated and redesigned specifically for domestic flights) through an underground subway. This construction is estimated to cost a total of $1 billion USD. John F Kennedy International: Arguably one of the world's most famous airports, this relatively new airport has already been hit with traffic. In order to combat the growing demand, JFK will receive 1. 5 billion to connect all of their terminals and add gates. This is expected to increase capacity by 30%. State of the art facilities and designs for proper transfers to domestic flights will be important as JFK plays a major role in shuffling international passengers into the domestic process. A process similar to Qatar's Hamad International or Dubai's International Airport will be implemented for smoother international to domestic transfers. George Bush Intercontinental- Houston: An airport forever under construction, $250 million will be invested to finish the projects entirely and update facilities. Seattle-Tacoma International: An important airport for Alaskan flights as well as Japanese ones, Seattle needs more capacity. With plenty of space, Seattle will receive another Satellite terminal where the current cargo bay is. This will increase the capacity by 80% and serve as an international hub, allowing the main terminal and the south and north satellites to be used for domestic flights. A train will connect all four terminals with the international portion of the line being completely separate allowing for immigration to be done before they even board the train. The expected cost is around $2. 2 billion along with modern upgrades. Other airports will be given money as well to improve their facilities: Airport City Amount Improvement Salt Lake In'tl Salt Lake $500M expansion McCarron In'tl Las Vegas $45M updates SFI San Francisco $100M modern updates DFW Dallas $400M Connect Terminals Louis Armstrong New Orleans $450M Major updates Indianapolis In'tl Indianapolis $500M Hub goal expansion Wayne Country Detroit $300M Updates to stay afloat Other airports will receive a portion of $4 billion for modern upgrades. Shipping The ports of South Louisiana, Houston, New York, Tampa, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Savannah, Seattle, and Miami will be upgraded to become larger. Furthermore, the port of Norfolk will be expanded to nearly thrice that of its original size to promote more transatlantic trade and easy access to the capital region. The ports of Honolulu and Anchorage are to be expanded as well to encourage more shipping to those regions. The port of San Juan in Puerto Rico will be expanded to become a transshipment port for all Latin American to American ports especially with more trade with Brazil. The entire port upgrades is expected to cost $10 billion USD. A total of $340 billion is being invested into transportation. Existing Infrastructural Upgrades America's bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure is what the president called "crumbling. " Although it is not really crumbling, it is certainly not as good as it should be. Thus, the Department of Interior and EPA will work with developers to create green solutions to traffic. This includes a large traffic flow solution by including as many diamond intersections as possible. Furthermore, trees will be planted along interstate routes. Gardens and roundabouts with parks and other monuments will be built to improve the beauty of our great nation as well as clean the air around us. A total of $170 billion will be invested in improving our current infrastructure and $65 billion on beautifying our country. Another $50 billion will be given to cities as grants in dire need of infrastructure upgrades. This includes road maintenance, street construction, power lines, and public building maintenance (only for historic buildings, however). A large portion (nearly 30%) will be focused on public transportation improvements including metro expansions and bus lines. Marketing for public transportation will not be covered, however. Water, Sewage, and Electricity Lines Internet Internet lines in the US are some of the best yet not quite the best. Since America has the best everything, our internet will have to improve. With a partnership with Google, the U. government will install fibre optics throughout the country for high speed internet. Rural areas with mediocre connection will receive regular "high speed" internet whilst current high speed lines will be replaced with fibre optics. The copper industry may take a small hit but this is part of America's greater plan to become a high tech center of the world. Many companies producing fibre optics for Google have decided to buy numerous copper company subsidiaries to hire workers there into producing fibre optic cables. This entire project is expected to cost $65 billion (Goldman Sachs estimated $140 billion for the entire country but the entire country is not being replaced with fibre optics). 5G, an incredible potential, has little to no focus in America compared to places such as Japan. In order to advance technology like we used to, companies developing 5G will receive grants and funding to build towers. The amount of money for research combined with construction grants totals $10 billion. Water pipes Flint Michigan received a large amount of news coverage for their lack of adequate water but is not alone. Almost 180 cities in the US suffer from poor water and even more are at risk. A large maintenance schedule will need to be put in place to ensure the US adequately cares for its people. $45 billion will be invested in improving or replacing pipes. Sewage pipes Sewage pipes are similar to the water pipe problem and will receive money to be fixed. However, a large amount of waste isn't properly treated to the maximum and thus infrastructure to more quickly treat water will be put in place. Around $40 billion is expected to cover sewage costs. Canals and Reservoirs Ogallala Irrigation Plan The Ogallala aquifer is the largest in the world and is essential for the growth of the great plains. However, it is not being replenished enough. $100 billion will be invested in building a canal from the great lake Superior down to connect the Mississippi river. A series of irrigation canals will go from the Mississippi to farmlands so they do not remain dependent on the Ogallala aquifer. This will reduce a large burden on the aquifer allowing it to be replenished. In order to control the amount of water being transported to the Mississippi to prevent flooding, numerous dams will be built for safety and hydropower. Superior will have to be managed. Phoenix Irrigation Plan The desert cities especially Phoenix suffers from water loss. The Gila river loses an extraordinary amount of water every year. A plan to build solar panels on sections of the river to prevent evaporation is expected to cost $10 billion for the city of Phoenix. The Aqua Fria water which is fed by Lake Pleasant is dry nearly year long. A series of solar panels covering around 80% of the river will allow it to be completely full for enough time to support agriculture and more people. The Great Mojave Plan The Mojave Desert is one of the hottest and uninhabitable lands in the world. With California struggling against drought, it is becoming more feasible to change the land. This $150 billion plan will save California and the Southwest from their own demise. A first of its kind, it will include a plethora of desalinisation plants near the coast of Ventura. The desalinised water will be pumped up to Lancaster beyond the mountain range through an intricate network of tunnels and rivers. The reservoir will be on the flat High Desert region. With many trees being planted in the regions that will directly survive off of the water produced and in turn prevent evaporation, water loss is expected to be minimal. Also, solar companies are encouraged to build solar panels above the canals to prevent water loss and gain free land. The cost is absolutely nothing for energy companies. Irrigation of the Mojave plan will see the reservoir fill up continuously. Construction for a network of man-made rivers would see the freshwater spread throughout the region for agriculture. With more water, more trees can grow. With more trees, more rainfall. With more rainfall, less desert. Eventually the High Desert will become vegetated and provide a long term solution for Los Angeles. This plan may seem outrageous at first but with California facing water shortages and the possibility of opening up a brand new region, this experimental prototype can serve to lead the US into the future of agriculture and sustainability. Furthering the efficiency of desalinasation plants is a large portion of the budget as well as converting the Santa Clara River into a upflowing river/canal. The technology made from the 17th century in constructing Versailles will be furthered so that water from the sea can finally be used to irrigate the desert above the mountains.

You said that you didn't know where the Griffin witcher school was located but wandering around in the game I came across a castle in the far south of Velen near the Crossroads. It has a marker called The Last Bastion. The majority of the castle is buried underground but to me it resembles Kaer Morhen. Seems to me to make sense to have a witcher school in the north (Kaer Morhen) and one in to the west in Velen (Last Bastion. Then maybe the cat was in the South near Toussaint? I haven't read the books yet so could be just a castle that suffered in a war in one of the books but I like to think it's a witcher school. Detective chinatown 3 movie.
